Remedy#1: Cucumber, Lemon and Honey Mask

Mixture of cucumber, lemon and honey reduces the appearance of pimple scars when applied to the skin. Cucumber is an edible fruit which can be eaten raw or cooked. It is one of the most important elements in food diet as well as skin diet since it has many health benefits. It helps in soothing and softening your skin. Lemon contains citric acid which is effective in treating acne. The vitamin C found in citrus fruits make your skin healthy glowing and the alkaline nature kills some types of bacteria which causes acne. Honey is a natural source of carbohydrates which provide strength and energy. Its antiseptic properties inhibit the growth of certain bacteria and keep external wounds lean and free from infection, and its antibacterial properties prevent infection and functions as an anti-inflammatory agent thus reducing both swelling and pain an even scarring.

For the procedure: Mix in a blender or food processor ½ cup chopped peeled cucumber with 2 tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice and 2 tbsp. honey. Blend the ingredients until you form a thin paste. Apply it to the affected area and leave it or approximately 60 minutes. Rinse the skin with cool water and apply moisturizer. Left over paste can be stored in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days. It can be applied daily for best results.

Remedy#2: Turmeric Root and Whole Milk

A mixture of turmeric root and whole milk is one of the remedies in treating pimple scars. Turmeric is a plant grown in South India and Indonesia which has many health benefits. The root is commonly used as a condiment in Asian cooking such as curries, textile dyes and as an aromatic stimulant. Whole milk is the purest form of milk also known as full cream milk. It’s a cow’s milk that contains 3.5 to 3.7% fats. It is a good source of calcium and vitamin D which helps promote strong bones, Vitamin K which is another nutrient for healthy bones, Vitamin B12 and riboflavin which is important or good cardiovascular health and production of energy and Vitamin A which is important for proper functioning of the immune system.

For the procedure: Make a thick paste by blending a 2 inch piece turmeric root with 3 tbsp. of whole milk using a blender or food processor. Apply the paste to the skin and leave it for 10-15 minutes before rinsing with cool water and regular soap. The paste can be applied daily.

Remedy#3: Sandalwood Essential Oil and Rosewater

A mixture of sandalwood essential oil and rosewater is used in treating pimple and acne scars as well as burn and other types of scars. Sandalwood essential oil is known as a sweet, warm, rich and woody essential oil used for body fragrance and as an ingredient in fragrant products such as incense, perfumes, aftershaves, and other cosmetics. Rosewater is the leftover liquid or hydrosol remaining when rose petals and water are distilled together for the purpose of making rose oil.

For the procedure: Mix 1 part o sandalwood essential oil to 10 parts rosewater. Apply the mixture using a cotton ball to the affected area and leave it overnight or for 6-8 hrs. Wash the skin with a regular cleanser. This can be used daily.

These home remedies for removing pimple scars may take time to be effective but they are worth the try.
